The Meldon Viaduct bridge deck will be closed from 11 November 2024 for approximately three
weeks to carry out repairs to the bridge surfacing.
This link will provide further information.
Whilst there is not a suitable alternative for cyclists, walkers could use the following diversion:
'Heading South and West from Okehampton, after crossing over the A30, continue South along the bridleway.
Instead of heading straight on, turn right down the footpath and use the footbridge to cross the West Okement River.
Turn left onto footpath, then right onto bridleway and emerge onto the minor road in Meldon Village.
Follow this road South to re-join the Dartmoor Way after passing under the old railway line.'
11/09/2024: The bridlepath as shown on the map will be closed from the 16th of September for a period of up to 6 months to allow for essential maintenance work. There will be a temporary alternative installed for walkers on the ground.
